He is an Associate Professor and immediate past Head of Department, Department of Political Science, Federal University Dutse. He has wealth of experience gathered over many years of academic research and teaching, as well as managerial engagements. His research focuses on human security, democratization, governance, peace and security. He has a strong background in research methods and computer programming language in data analysis. Kamal has participated in conferences, workshops and many research projects both at local and international levels. He has a certificate in Positive Peace Frameworks, Transformative Pedagogy and Ethics of Peacebuilding
Kamal Olaniyi Lamidi — Director
He has a wealth of experience in research, monitoring and evaluation of donor-funded projects in Nigeria. He has participated in many national and international research, monitoring and evaluation projects on security, peacebuilding, youth employment, food security, social protection, civil society organisations and on several agricultural value chains. He has in-depth knowledge of varied research methods including Market Systems Approaches, Rapid Outcome Assessment, Realist Approach among several other qualitative and quantitative methods. Umaru is proficient in the use of mobile applications and computer programming language (e.g., Python) in data collection and analysis. He holds a PhD in Political Science and is an alumnus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Data Science and Machine Learning Programme.
Umaru Ibrahim Yakubu — Deputy Director, Research and Publication
He holds a PhD in Sociology with specialization in Criminology. His research interests cut across many areas including human rights, drug abuse, organised armed groups, youth unemployment, cybercrimes, among several others. He is a proficient trainer and advocacy expert with many years of experience in the civil society sector.
